PE professional year is a job-readiness course exclusively designed for fresh international graduates to enhance their employment prospects with extensive career coaching, hands-on work experience and educating yourself about the Australian work industry.
Candidates must possess a graduate or postgraduate degree in any stream(Accounting, or Information Technology) in a 2 years course from an Australian university.
Participants must acquire a minimum score of 6 in the overall IELTS score along with a minimum score of 6 in each of the bands or an equivalent score in any of the similar English competency tests – Pearson English Test(PTE), TOEFL, iBIT or Cambridge Advanced English Tests.
Must provide a formal Skill Assessment certificate(apart from students applying for the PE professional year in IT) from an Authorized skill assessment body.
Must hold a Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) or at least have applied for the same with a Bridging visa A or B
If you are a working individual, you can still take up the professional program along with your job. However, the criteria involve:
a) Your post is 80% related to your specific industry
b) You have your own desk in the company
c) You are properly supervised in the particular role
● The first part of the course includes 32 weeks of extensive classroom training, workshops and seminars conducted by a team of professional trainers, mentors and experts. It will help you:
a) Get a detailed insight into the Australian employment market and workplace attributes
b) Tips and Tricks to build a professional network, crack interviews effectively and write appealing resumes.
c) Learn business communication skills to network with associates, managers, customers and associates
d) Boost your self-confidence to initiate tasks, manage responsibilities and work as a team member
e) Hear stories from relevant industry leaders and influencer and learn about the struggles, challenges and their solutions
f) Gain relevant knowledge in your domain that would further help to land in the best career opportunities available
● The second part of the course includes a 12-week unpaid internship program in one of the reputed companies in the specific domain. The internship program will prepare you with:
a) Valuable work experience to flaunt in your resume and boost during the interview
b) Face the struggles in an Australian workplace, learn professional ethics, work under experienced colleagues and managers to learn about the workplace dynamics
c) Understand and build professional relationships to network the path in career advancement and future growth
d) Get consistent guidance from trainers and mentors to choose the right career path depending on your skills, academic progress, subject of interest, educational background and competency.
